One night, I went to a cozy restaurant with my friends. They played a movie on the large screen on the wall. Though I am a movie freak, the movie was not interesting enough for me. The movie was about to end. I've just watched few scenes when the credit titles came.
The dinner was served, looked delicious and smelled good. But my attention was stolen by the last original sound track of the movie. I didn't have any chance to check the title and the singer of that song because a waiter has replaced the DVD with another movie.
I was in bad mood during that week. Some things did not run well as I planned. Laid my self down after the dinner, I couldn't put the song away from my head. So, I turned on my laptop, got connected to the Internet, and started the search. After a while, I found the title, the singer, even the video clip!
The things were as tiring and difficult as before. However, when I listened to the song, I knew I shouldn't give up on everything. I am tough, yet full of hope. I knew everything would be just okay.
So, this is the song "Win" by Brian McKnight!
"WIN" by Brian McKnight
Dark is the night I can weather the storm Never say die I've been down this road before I'll never quit I'll never lay down, mm See I promised myself that I'd never let me down
[1] - I'll never give up Never give in Never let a ray of doubt slip in And if I fall I'll never fail I'll just get up and try again
Never lose hope Never lose faith There's much too much at stake Upon myself I must depend I'm not looking for place or show I'm gonna win
No stopping now There's still a ways to go, oh Someway, somehow Whatever it takes, I know I'll never quit, no no I'll never go down, mm, mm I'll make sure they remember my name A hundred years from now
[Repeat 1]
When it's all said and done My once in a lifetime will be back again Now is the time To take a stand Here is my chance That's why I'll...
In school where I work as a counselor, a teacher led morning assembly one day. She was bored of giving warnings, and meaningless announcements, and common inspirational quotes. So, she gave a riddle to the students.
"There 3 birds are singing happily on a tree. A hunter comes silently with his gun. Then, the hunter shots once. One bird falls down. How many birds are left?"
1st grader: "Two. One fell down, two left." 6th grader: "None. The other two fly away after the shot."
Teacher appraised those two answers and gave the students present. Just before she closed her remarks, a 4th grader raised his hand.
4th grader: "One is left." Teacher: "How come?" 4th grader: "One fell down. One went to police station to report the shot. One stayed to watch the hunter so the hunter cannot run away before the police come."
Years ago, I hate my Bahasa Indonesia teacher. This is the story....
When I was still a little grade 4 girl, I got score of 56 in my Bahasa Indonesia small test. It was bizarre, yet annoying, because I usually got outstanding marks in Bahasa Indonesia. 80, 95, the lowest is 75! I knew I was good in Bahasa Indonesia since I like writing and reading. And, I got 56!
The worst part, the teacher asked students to mention their score out loud so she could write down the score in her notes. So, she gave our test sheets and then called our name one by one.
I was still frozen, staring at my test sheet and the red 56 on that paper, when the teacher called my name. Then, I got up from my chair and walked approaching her table. She asked, "Why do you come to me? Just mention your score from your table."
I couldn't help my tears. I cried while standing near her, in front of the whole class!! For instance, she looked at my test and mentioned my score out loudly. Oh, I hate her so much that time! (Plus, she preached me much about studying hard then.)
4-5 years ago, I heard about her death. She struggled from cancer for years before her death. I couldn't come to her funeral because I was in the middle of my study in college. But, her death brought me back to the past. I thought of myself back then. I thought of myself now.
Somehow, I am really thankful now. If not because of her and her "annoying" and embarrassing preach, I won't be this good in Bahasa Indonesia. I love writing and reading more than ever.
So, thank you, my Bahasa Indonesia teacher. I'm sorry for hating you once. Goodbye.
When I was in grade 5, I had a crush. It was my first crush! Do you know who the lucky guy was? Axl W. Rose, the popular Guns ‘n Roses vocalist!
Hahahaha....I saw Axl for the first time in G'nR video clip, November Rain. In my eyes, he was so manly, sexy, and handsome.
When I told my friends about my crush, they laughed at me. They had crushed on our seniors (junior high school) or on some handsome models or some cool movie stars. I had crush on a rocker who would never meet me in any condition.
'Twas just a crush. I like him because he sang differently and he got style! I was different from my friends that time, I am still now. And I'm proud of it. Being different is cool!
RAPID KL "Malaysian sleepy vehicle": especially T430 UKM-Kajang and T431 BBB-Kajang
